Reorder PDF Pages

Rearrange the pages of a PDF visually.

Reorder PDF Pages lets you drag and rearrange the pages of a PDF document into any sequence you want, then save the result as a new PDF — directly in your browser. The need comes up regularly: a scanned document where the pages came out in the wrong order, a report assembled from multiple sources where the sections need to be sequenced differently, a presentation where slides need to be rearranged after initial assembly, or a form where pages were accidentally submitted out of sequence. iSavePDF's Reorder PDF Pages tool displays all pages as thumbnail previews and lets you drag them into the correct order before saving. The page rearrangement is handled by pdf-lib in your browser — your file is never uploaded to a server. The tool is free with no account required and no watermark on the output.

Step by step

How to reorder pdf pages on iSavePDF

  1. Open Reorder PDF Pages on iSavePDF

Go to isavepdf.com/reorder-pdf-pages in any modern browser — Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari, or Brave on desktop or mobile. No installation, extension, or account is required.

  2. Upload your PDF

Drag your PDF onto the upload zone or click to browse your device. The tool accepts a single PDF of up to 50 MB. Once uploaded, all pages are displayed as thumbnail previews in a grid so you can see the current order.

  3. Drag pages into the correct order

Click and drag any page thumbnail to a new position in the sequence. The other thumbnails shift to make room as you drag. You can move pages freely to any position in the document. There's no limit on how many moves you make — rearrange as many pages as needed.

  4. Review the new sequence

Scroll through the thumbnail grid to confirm the final order looks correct before saving. The numbers overlaid on each thumbnail show the original page number, so you can always see where each page came from.

  5. Save the reordered PDF

Click Save. pdf-lib assembles a new PDF containing all the pages in the order shown in the thumbnail grid and saves it to your downloads folder. No upload occurs. The original PDF is not modified.

How it works

How Reorder PDF Pages works

  1. Upload your PDF

Drop the file in. We render thumbnails of every page so you can see what you're working with.

  2. Drag pages into the right order

Reorder pages by dragging them across the grid. You can also remove pages you don't need.

  3. Download the rearranged PDF

We rebuild the PDF in your new order, locally — no server roundtrip.

When to use it

Common use cases

  • Fixing page order in scanned documents

When scanning a multi-page document through an automatic document feeder, pages can feed through in the wrong order if they're not perfectly aligned, or if the feeder picks up multiple pages at once. A twenty-page contract with pages 7 and 8 reversed, or an invoice with the attachment on the wrong page, needs to be corrected before it can be used or filed. Reorder PDF Pages lets you fix these errors in seconds without re-scanning the entire document.

  • Reorganising report sections

Reports and documents assembled by combining multiple PDF sources often need to be reorganised after initial assembly — the executive summary needs to move before the methodology, the appendices need to come after the references, or a newly added section needs to be inserted in the middle. Moving pages into the correct position is faster and more precise with the drag-and-drop thumbnail interface than trying to split, extract, and re-merge sections.

  • Resequencing presentation slides

Presentation exports in PDF format sometimes need to have slides reordered after the presentation is reviewed — moving a conclusion slide earlier, restructuring the narrative flow, or extracting a section to a standalone deck. The thumbnail grid gives a visual overview of the full presentation so you can see the structure and reorder with confidence.

  • Correcting form submissions with pages out of sequence

Multi-page forms sometimes have pages submitted or scanned in the wrong order. A three-page application with page 2 before page 1, or a medical form with the consent page after the clinical pages, needs to be corrected before it can be processed. Reordering is faster than re-scanning, and the local processing means the form contents don't need to leave the device.

Why iSavePDF

The privacy-first way to reorder pdf pages

PDF page reordering typically involves uploading your file to a remote server, using a web-based drag interface, and downloading the result. The content of the PDF — which might be a legal document, a medical form, a financial report, or a personal correspondence — travels to and from a server you don't control in the process. For document types where privacy matters, this is an avoidable exposure.

iSavePDF renders all page thumbnails locally using pdfjs-dist, lets you reorder them in your browser, and uses pdf-lib to assemble the new PDF in your browser's memory. Your file never leaves your device. The download goes directly from your browser to your downloads folder without any server involved. The tool is free and funded by display advertising.

Tips & limits

Tips for the best results

  • Original page numbers are shown in the thumbnail overlay

The number shown on each thumbnail is the original page number from the uploaded PDF. After rearranging, the displayed order shows the new sequence while the overlay number still shows where that page came from. This is useful when you need to verify you've moved the right page, particularly in long documents.

  • Use Extract PDF Pages for more complex restructuring

For complex document restructuring — extracting specific pages to a separate document, combining with pages from another PDF, or removing pages — the combination of Extract PDF Pages, Delete PDF Pages, and Merge PDF gives you more surgical control than reordering alone.

  • The original PDF is not modified

Saving the reordered version creates a new PDF file. The original PDF on your device remains unchanged. If you want to reorder differently, re-upload the original and start fresh.

  • Combine with Add Page Numbers after reordering

If the document needs page numbers, add them after reordering — not before — so the numbers reflect the final page sequence. Use iSavePDF's Add Page Numbers tool as the last step after structural editing.
